Potsdam
The city of Potsdam is more than one
thousand years old. Located along the banks of the Havel river and the
surrounding lakes, Potsdam has a lot to offer to its visitors: palaces,
gardens and numerous monuments - all ensconced in the midst of a unique
cultural landscape and at the same time providing a scientific
environment which is unparalleled in Germany, not to mention an
extremely lively cultural scene.
Cinema history has been and still is being
written in Potsdam. The movie classic "The Blue Angel" was shot here,
"The Pianist" and "Around the World in 80 Days". In addition to the
movie and television industries Potsdam is home as well to many of the
top companies in high-tech and design. Potsdam is both a city to live
in and to love. You can make yourself at home here - whether in a
listed building, in a refurbished pre-fab high-rise originating from
East German times, in a mansion or even in a terraced house.
